Grazes

In medical terminology, a graze is a minor skin injury that occurs when the skin is rubbed or scraped against a rough surface, such as pavement, a wall, or an object. Grazes are also known as abrasions or scrapes.

Grazes can vary in severity, from a small superficial scratch to a deeper wound that may bleed. The skin may appear red, raw, or inflamed, and there may be some pain or discomfort associated with the injury.

If the graz is large or deep, there may be a risk of infection, and it is important to keep the wound clean and covered with a sterile dressing.

Treatment for a graze typically involves cleaning the affected area with mild soap and water and applying an antiseptic cream or calendula ointment  to prevent infection.

A sterile dressing or bandage may be applied to protect the wound and promote healing. Pain relief medication, such as paracetamol or ibuprofen, may also be taken to help manage any discomfort.

In most cases, grazes will heal within a few days to a week, depending on the severity of the injury.

If the graze is large, deep, or shows signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or pus, it is important to seek medical advice from a healthcare professional.

How to use:
Read the enclosed leaflet before use.
For application to the skin only. Wash hands before and after use.
Adults, the elderly and children over 6 years of age: Clean the affected area and apply to the affected area directly or on a dry dressing two to three times daily.

Do not use:
Do not use in children under 6 years of age.
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Do not use if you are allergic to Calendula officinalis, or to other plants of the Asteraceae (Compositae) family or to any of the other ingredients.

Warnings and precautions:
If symptoms worsen or persist after 1 week, consult your doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.
If signs of skin infection are observed, consult a doctor or qualified healthcare practitioner.
Discontinue use if redness, irritation or dry skin occurs.
Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes.
Contains lanolin (wool fat) which may cause local skin reactions.
