Lipozyme
BioCare Lipozyme provides a high potency fat digesting enzym product consisting of lipase enzyme in a vegetable capsule form. This has been developed to ensure that it is still effective in the harsh conditions of the stomach.
Lipozyme TL 100L is a 1,3 specific lipase originating from Thermomyces lanuginosus. It is a very effective catalyst for transesterification, interesterification, ester hydrolysis and desymmetrisation of esters.
- Acid stable against stomach pH
- Vacuum packed to maintain stability and shelf-life of the enzyme
- Able to retain digestive capability over a wide range of pH variances

Enzyms are biological molecules, typically proteins, that act as catalysts in biochemical reactions. They play a fundamental role in facilitating and speeding up chemical reactions within living organisms, enabling various cellular processes to occur efficiently. Here are some key characteristics and functions of enzyms:
- Catalysts: Enzyms accelerate chemical reactions by lowering the activation energy required for the reaction to proceed. They enable reactions to occur much faster than they would without catalysis, making biochemical processes in cells highly efficient.
- Specificity: Enzyms exhibit high specificity for their substrates, meaning they typically catalyze specific reactions involving particular molecules (substrates). Each enzyme has an active site that binds to its substrate(s) with precise complementarity, allowing for efficient catalysis.
- Substrate Binding: Enzymes bind to their substrate(s) at the active site through non-covalent interactions, such as hydrogen bonds, hydrophobic interactions, and electrostatic interactions. This binding induces a conformational change in the enzyme-substrate complex, facilitating the conversion of substrates into products.
- Reaction Specificity: Enzymes catalyze specific types of biochemical reactions, including:
- Hydrolysis: Breaking down large molecules into smaller components by adding water molecules.
