Comfrey Cream
A Vogel Comfrey, derived from the roots and leaves of *Symphytum officinale*, is known for its active compound allantoin, which aids in the growth of new skin cells, and other anti-inflammatory components that support skin health.
Traditionally, comfre ointments and creams have been applied topically to help with bruises, muscle and ligament strains, fractures, sprains, and osteoarthritis.
Comfrey cream is particularly used to relieve back pain, knee osteoarthritis, and ankle sprains, combining the herb’s extracts with a moisturizing base of oils or glyceryl stearate for easy skin application. This herb is part of the Boraginaceae family and is recognized for its small purple flowers.
**Note**: Comfre should not be used on open wounds or taken internally due to potential toxic effects on the liver.
Comfrey, with its pretty purple flowers, can help replenish skin that has lost its youthful glow. Containing allantoin, which promotes healing, it offers regenerative properties as it seals moisture into the skin.
